This is “E’s” Story…

Her face really grabbed my heart today as she walked in the door, the sadness and fear were so evident I could feel them. She’s all alone now….he left her with no place to go. She married him so he could be her Savior, save her from this disease, the empty life, this daily suicide…. She thought he’d bring her peace and hope and joy, and now all she has is sadness and fear. Fear that he’ll tell everybody her secret(she has AIDS you know), Fear that he’ll never come back, Fear of the BIG hole he left as he walked out the door and never came back again. I grabbed her in a hug, and told her I was so glad she was here. She started telling me stories, how broke she is, how hurt she is, can I find her some help? She’s out of cigarettes and out of time…Wow, how many times have I heard that same story. My head starts to throb thinking oh boy here we go again. Then God starts to show up….He says “Tresha, it’s not about the money, the disease, the hurt, the loss, the cigarettes, or the hole…..it’s not about you wanting to hear the same story again. It’s about me…so tell her again for me. Tell her I love her, that I died to set her free….tell her I’d do it again just for her so she could live. Tell her, Tresha, not because you want to say it again….but because I asked you to. Do it for me and for all of them….if you have to say it over and over and over.” It’s not pretty the work here at the Joshua Project. It’s ugly, sad, painful, repetitive, and amazingly beautiful all at the same time. How our God can take the broken, shattered pieces and even if you have to “SAY IT” for years…He uses it to change lives.

This Week’s Prayer Requests…

Please pray for each special person that the Lord brings to us, that we would always be guided by the Holy Spirit in everything we do. Even if we NEED to say it again and again! Please pray that over this Easter time our team would be broken and revived by the reality of the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus. Please pray that we stand firm in our calling as we go to war each day in the spirit for the souls of those we minister to. Please pray for all the teams that are praying about coming this year that God would build unity and humility in them and us. Please pray for the financial support for the JP as we need an increase in giving to sustain and grow the work here, and specifically for the Joshua project XTI account. It is in need of serious prayer and help for us to continue to reach the lost. We need a $20,000 increase in this account to cover the decrease in giving this past year! Please pray without ceasing…

His Body broken for all…

The atmosphere was heavy at our Church meeting at the Day Center yesterday, we began talking about repentance and the price that Christ paid for the ransom of our souls, a few heads dropped towards the floor, others opened their eyes wide in awe of the pain and suffering that Jesus went through in order to redeem us from sin. Some stared blankly as if the words had no weight at all. Jesus died for us all, for the drug addict, the alcoholic, the prostitute, the orphan, the missionary, no matter where we came from or who we might be, each of our sins placed the beautiful Lamb of God upon the cross. There was no other way to pay the price, there is no other way to forgiveness except through Christ's sacrifice. He came and died for me, He came and died for you. He will come again soon, am I ready? Are you ready? Get ready….Please!

Love and Prayers, Tresha, Andy, Claudia, and Tony for all the kids at the JP
